Garden of Eden

This place was built by S. P. Dismoor. All of the sculptures were made by hand out of cement. He spent 20 years on the garden, and he started the project when he was in his 60's. He and his first wife were entombed in a mausoleum that he also built. I was able to see him in his glass coffin. The whole thing was an amazing experience.

Pawnee Rock, KS

Pawnee Rock was a half way point of the Santa Fe Trail. Many settlers who passed signed their names. Soon the rocks were almost completely covered. I got to climb around and find signatures. The earliest one I could identify was: F. Henderson 1894. I also got to climb up a spiral staircase and get a view of what the settlers might have saw, and it was breathtaking.

Fort Larder, KS

Was an amazing fort! Seriously felt like you were walking into the 1800's. Almost all the buildings( including the one in the picture) are the original structure . They completely stocked and decorated it perfectly! Great little piece of history.

Buffalo Bison

Just had lunch in Buffalo.Shorty's Cafe had great food. Even though they are so small they still have a movie theater. It only shows one movie and also doubles as a civic center.

We just visited the Oklahoma city National Memorial & Museum. I did not know about what happened there before today, but from now on I will always remember the stories I read. "We will never forget."

My Story-

Well OK, here we go. I'm a thirteen year old that's in eight grade. I am been blessed with an opportunity of a lifetime. I am going on a tour of the United States with my Dad and our dog, Kali. I get two months to be free of school and see the things I have always wanted to see.
Along the way I will  share pictures and stories with you. I hope you like my view of the U.S!

Till next time,
Sophia
